I think that this is a great idea. even though my kids would always complain about doing them during vacation it forced all of us to go over the important material and as a result they did not forget much of what was taught in the last year. Keep it up.

Remove the idea of trying to teach. it never succeeds. try to have fun in Hindi. If students don't get Hindi, so be it. but with this experience, students will hate Hindi.

10. Comments / Other feedback...will be appreciated.

Writing work should be less. Or if at this level kids are suppose to know this much writing then we should concentrate more on writing in level 4 teaching. Summer workbook type worksheets should be provided to kids in regular Gurukul homework.

1) Along with just solving the questions in the workbook contains small Hindi poems, jokes ,riddles , finding rhyming words etc written in Hindi , making a craft or drawing activity related to india ..for example - draw a picture of Tiranga, Taj, Lal kila , make paper Gandhi topi etc  kids would surely have fun to work on the workbook.

2) Fonts should clear , big enough to read especially for younger kids, inviting so that kids feel to read the content and can understand what they read.

1. It would be good for teachers to give parents a crash course on the expectations of each exercise in the book. Quite a few of the instructions were completely misleading.
2. It would be good to hear back from the teachers how the students did on their workbooks. Students like to hear about the appreciation for the great effort they did.

I think it a good idea but they kids really need a break.  Maybe Gurkul can give them a 5 page short work book to start a few weeks before they return.   This will make the kids feel good, get some practice and set them up for sucess.

First of all, It was fun doing the summer workbook. Great Idea. Thanks so much for all the hardwork you put in preparing the summer workbook. I am a non-Hindi parent, so found it little difficult to follow. Please consider the following suggestions while preparing it this summer.

* Add the instructions in English for all the worksheets(pages).

* Provide answer key (very useful and a great help for non-hindi parents)

* Add short stories to read. ( hindi with english translation)

* Add more pages (around 10)
