Namaste Parents, We are settling down to our class routine.
HINDI REVIEW: We reviewed the vowels अ, आ..........अं,अ: The first consonant 'क' was introduced. We counted the number of boys and girls in our classroom in Hindi.
With summer break a lot of kids have forgotten their vowels. Please do try to do a refresher course with your kids as we move onto our current curriculum. This would help them in the class.
CULTURE REVIEW: We learnt about the festival Rakshabandhan. For activity we made a Rakhi and learnt the significance of the festival -bonding between brothers and sisters. We also located India on the world map.
SPOKEN HINDI: For the 2nd lesson in spoken hindi we first reviewed our 1st lesson--Aapka naam kya hai? Aap kaise ho? This is just to get the children more comfortable with our everyday greetings. We moved on to learning 4 new words YAH -- THIS VAH--THAT HAA.N--YES NAA.N--NO. we did a small exercise with flash cards to get the children to understand how and where to use these words IMPORTANT:incourage the children to do their hw and BRING IT BACK as thats the only way we can see how much they are absorbing from the lesson and learning. Dhanyawad shilpa. HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:
A map of India was sent home. Please help your child locate the city they visited during their last vacation and mark the spot using crayons. For spoken Hindi, a sheet has been sent which has questions and the answers are given below. The kids have to cut it out and glue the correct answers and the ones who are comfortable or who want to write the ans are most welcome.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS: - Please have your kids have a bound work notebook where they can practice and also do their writing homework. It makes it much easier for them and us to learn and correct - All kids should have pencils, erasers and coloring pencils/markers/crayons for their art activity. -Please don't send any juices or messy snacks with the kids. Water is allowed but for snacks it should be something dry which they can easily eat and not create a huge mess. -A lot of people signed up the volunteer sheet (thank you so much for that). Those of you who didn't please do so on the next class. -Dhanyavad, Chandrika.
