•         Page 42, 43, 46, 47: (Due Jan 23 the week after)
Tip for writing: The way we introduced is by telling how they can first write 3 and then a small sleeping line and followed by 1 adjoining sleeping line.  Tell, all Hindi letters have a cap or they are hung on a string.  Similarly introduce aa – i.e. a” vowel followed by 1.  So while revising use the same technique – really helps kids pick up and remember letters fast.
• Use simple example from Hindi (or even English words like around) and ask whether it starts with ‘a’ or ‘aa’ vowel – that will help them revise and understand the phonics. For example: aaloo (Potato) or their names if they start with a or aa.

• Practice attached question/answering with your child.  If you child is advanced, ask questions that involve more action verbs.
• Please have your child bring a flash card with their name written in Hindi on one side and in English other side.  Since we covered all material, I am thinking we can teach all kids  how to write their names in Hindi without formally introducing the alphabet.  Along the process, they will pick Hindi consonants. Some kids already know how to write their name. But they would still pick more letters as they will see other kids names. For non-Hindi speaking parents, just send a flash card with name in English written on one side and we can fill in Hindi side.
• Review of vowels (sound) अ आ इ ई उ ऊ ए ऐ ऋ ओ औ अं अः.  Ask your kids to guess words starting with each vowel.
