PRE-REQUISITES FOR MOVING TO LEVEL 5: 
Pre-requisites for Language: (100 marks)

• Must be able to write all letters, maatras and words. Should be able to write sentences dictated even if unable to construct sentences on their own.
- Write all the Vowel + matras (1/2 marks each: 13 marks)
- Write all the consonants + Compound Consonants (1/2 marks each: 18 marks)
- Write Barakhadi for 2 letters (1/2 marks each: 13 marks)
- 11 words (Tamatar, TajMahal etc: 11 marks)
- 10 sentences (30 marks)

• Must be able to understand Hindi and follow directions given in Hindi. (2 marks each: 20 marks)
- Apna naam whiteboard par jakar likh do.
- Apne baste mein se vyakaran abhyas ki book nikalo.


Pre-requisites for Vocabulary: (100 marks)
Note: The category names below in quotation marks are titles of vocabulary sheets developed by Gurukul. These sheets should be consulted to determine which words in the category are to be covered.
• Must know Counting at least up to 25. (10 marks)
• Must know “Parts of the body”. (10 marks)
• Must know “Domestic Animals”, “Wild Animals”, and “Birds”. (10 marks)
• Must know the “Days of the Week”, Months song. (5 marks)
• Must know “Colors”. (5 marks)
• Must know at least the non-optional “Fruits” and “Vegetables”. (10 marks)
• Should know “Directions”, “Senses” “Household Items”. (15 marks)
 
• Must be able to read all letters, maatras, words and small sentences.
- Read all 10 letters (5 marks)
- Read 10 words (10)
- Read 10 sentences (20)


Pre-requisites for Conversation: (100 marks)
Students should be able to say sentences/phrases with correct gender, tense, singular/plural in first, second and third person. They should be able to converse few sentences ( Refer to 4th level conversation topic)
- 10 Genders (10 marks)
- 10 Plural (10 marks)
- 10 opposites (10 marks)
- Relations (5 marks)
- Identify Nount/Verbs/Adjective/Pronoun (10 marks)
- Tenses (15 marks)
- Tell 5 sentences on one pre-defined topics (10 marks)
- Show picture or read a short story and ask 5 questions (10 marks)
• Must be able to conduct basic conversation in Hindi, with assistance, if not independently. (20 marks)
- Tumhara naam kya hain?
- Tumhare kitnae bhai bahin hain?
- Tumhe kaun si Hindi movie acchi lagati hain and kyo?
