2. Show-and-Tell: Bring a toy or a picture of any animal - domestic or wild - and speak 2-3 lines about it in Hindi.

Please have the children review their class folders for family, body parts, colors, numbers, animals, fruits and vegetables. Also review some common action verbs on page 47/48 – the children are not expected to know all the verbs listed there, just some common ones we usually talk about in class (e.g. eat, drink, sit, stand, walk, run, read, write, speak). We will also assess the children’s familiarity with Indian culture with material like common festivals, clothes, places in India, etc.

Show-and-tell about a house – it could be yours (home) or any other house:
1. Color the picture of the house drawn in class, or draw another picture, or get a photograph of a house
2. Speak 2-3 lines about the house, using the vocabulary learnt in class – page 49 of folder.

Ask the children if they now know the difference between “home” (ghar -  घर) and “house” (makaan – मकान).
